4. D.B. Cooper

In 1971, a man known as D.B. Cooper hijacked a plane, collected a ransom, and parachuted into the night, never to be seen again. Despite extensive investigations, no conclusive evidence of Cooper's identity or fate has surfaced.
5. Emanuela Orlandi
In 1983, 15-year-old Emanuela Orlandi disappeared in Vatican City after a music lesson. Her disappearance has been linked to various conspiracy theories involving the Vatican and international criminals, but she remains missing.

8. The Roanoke Colonists

In 1585, the Roanoke Colony was established in present-day North Carolina, starting with over 100 colonists. By 1590, these colonists had mysteriously disappeared, leaving behind only the word "CROATOAN" carved into a stake wall. Despite various theories, ranging from a massacre to assimilation with nearby indigenous communities, the fate of the Roanoke colonists remains an unresolved historical mystery.
9. The Sodder Children

In 1945, five of the Sodder family's children were thought to have died in a house fire in West Virginia. However, no remains were found in the ashes, and sightings of the children after the fire fueled speculation that they were kidnapped, and the fire was set intentionally.
10. Brian Shaffer

On April 1, 2006, Brian Shaffer disappeared after a night out at a bar in Columbus, Ohio, celebrating the completion of final exams and the onset of spring break with his friends. After being last seen on security footage returning to the bar just before it closed, Shaffer vanished without a trace, leaving no conclusive evidence despite extensive police investigations, including searching through nearby security camera footage and even the city's dumpsters and sewers.
