She Vanished After a Night Out — Then They Found the Trash Can-1

The lifeless remains of a 30-year-old woman from Colerain Township, Ohio, were found in a garbage bin approximately 20 miles away from where she was last seen. In an effort to prevent him from fleeing, the man charged with dumping her body has had his bond increased to $50,000.

Young Mother

Brittany Moran, a 30-year-old mother of seven, had experienced many ups and downs in life. Audrey Moran, Brittany's mother, created a GoFundMe page and shared, "Brittany had a complicated life of many highs and lows. with all the things that were out of my control that I couldn't help with, it would mean so much to me personally to be able to know that she was laid to rest in a peaceful and respectful way," as reported by The Independent. "We appreciate all donations and support at this time."

Brittany was last seen in Loveland, Ohio, on May 15 or 16, 2024. Concerned when Brittany wasn't active on Facebook for a few days, her mother reached out to her daughter's friends but no one had heard from her. Audrey then filed a missing person report with the local Loveland police.

Man Accused of Leaving Mother of 7 Dead in Trashcan-2

Brittany's body was found by the police in Paddock Hills, approximately 20 miles away from her last known location. It was discovered in a trash can behind an abandoned building. Dean Allen, aged 50, was taken into custody in connection to the case. Although he has not been charged with her murder, he faces accusations of abusing a corpse and tampering with evidence.

Audrey Moran, Brittany's mother, was unable to view her daughter's body due to its condition. "Because of him, and how he treated my daughter, I can't even see her for the last time," she said, according to The Independent.

Allen later admitted to police that Moran died of a suspected overdose in his apartment. Instead of calling for help or reporting her death, he panicked, fearing the consequences due to his criminal record and parole status. He placed her body in a trash can and left it behind an abandoned building in Paddock Hills.

Justice Served

In December 2024, Dean Allen pleaded guilty to felony charges of abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence. He was sentenced to three years in prison. During sentencing, his attorney described Allen as remorseful, emotionally traumatized, and misled by the belief he was still on parole — when in fact his parole had ended weeks before Moran's death.

"Dean cannot change the past. He will not ask for and does not expect any forgiveness from the victim's family," his attorney wrote, according to Fox 19. "He is simply asking for mercy ... to try and use this experience for some good, however that can be."

Allen, a former volunteer firefighter who was on disability since an ATV accident, was described as trying to rebuild his life before the incident occurred.

Initially, his bond was set at $2,000 but was increased to $50,000 on June 13, 2024.

The official cause of Brittany's death has not been publicly disclosed, and Allen has not been charged with her murder. Even so, the story has gripped the interest of community members in Ohio and has garnered national attention. "She was good-hearted, she loved kids, she loved people ... loves people," Audrey Moran said of Brittany, according to Fox 19. "She always had a smile, she always told us how much she loved us."
