8 Ridiculously Funny Crimes That Actually Happened!-1

It's impossible to watch movies like "Ocean's Eleven" and not marvel at the complexity and genius of some criminal heist schemes. Not so with these eight real-life criminals! Get ready to chuckle at the masterminds behind these "brilliant" plots.

1. I blame the bath salts.

A drunken thief broke into an Ohio home and decided to get high sniffing bath salts. He felt a little loopy, so instead of robbing the house, he decided to decorate for Christmas instead.

2. It must have been hilarious.

A couple in Oak Hills, California, was goofing around in their home, having some laughs. When the man told a particularly funny joke, they heard a giggle coming from upstairs. Apparently, a thief in the process of robbing their home found the joke too funny not to laugh out loud.

3. But... are you hiring?

A man robbed a store, and then subsequently decided he might like to work there — so he returned to the scene of the crime to submit a job application. Awkward.

4. Do you want a Frosty® with that?

Want a free ride to the police station? That's exactly what this man got when he decided to launch a 3-foot-6-inch live alligator through a Wendy's® drive-thru window. The man ended up in custody, the alligator ended up back in the swamp, and the unlucky Wendy's employee working the drive-thru window that day ended up with an amazing story to tell!

5. Your Honor, I have been wronged.

One man attempted to rob a local bank, but to his surprise, the bank's safe had no money inside. His solution? Call a lawyer and attempt to sue the bank for lack of money. We'd love to watch the trial of that one.

6. In case you need to contact me in the future...

Remember the old westerns, where a thief attempts to rob a bank by discreetly passing a note to the bank teller? Well, one particular bank robber decided to try this classic method — but he accidentally passed the teller a note containing his name and address. Oops.

7. How did you know?

A thief in Hickory, North Carolina, decided to steal a cash register. He planned to take the entire cash register back home and then take his time figuring out how to extract the cash. There's only one problem — the thief didn't notice the register tape rolling 50 yards behind him. His crime spree came to a quick end when police followed the breadcrumbs to his apartment and caught him red-handed.

8. It's a Target bullseye!

A con artist bought a printer from Target and subsequently decided he disliked paying for things with real money. He decided to use the printer to mass-produce counterfeit bills, and then he returned the same printer to Target to get his money back. Unfortunately for this criminal, he left some of the counterfeit money inside the printer — and that's why this Target shopping spree ended with the man in handcuffs.

So, if you plan to commit a crime, remember these handy tips: Don't laugh too loudly, don't return to the scene of the crime, don't reveal your address, don't sniff bath salts, and don't catapult a reptile into a fast-food restaurant. Got it?
